Turbulence Radar

Terms of use

Draft · last updated 19 October 2026 · to be reviewed before launch

What Turbulence Radar is

Turbulence Radar gives passengers a plain-language estimate of how smooth a flight may be, based on weather model data and pilot reports. It is an independent service.

What it is not

Forecast for passengers' peace of mind. Not for flight operations. Airlines and pilots decide.

Our forecasts are estimates. Weather changes, models can be wrong, and the real route and height of your flight may differ from what we assume. Always follow the instructions of your crew and the seatbelt sign. Turbulence Radar is not a safety rating of any airline, aircraft or route, and it is not medical advice.

Using the service

Paid plans (later)

Calm Pass and Frequent Flyer will be sold through Stripe. Prices, what is included and refund rules will be shown before you pay and added here before we sell anything.

Data and credits

Forecasts are based on data and products of ECMWF (CC BY 4.0) and NOAA's Aviation Weather Center. See Data credits.

Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made using a forecast, or for losses from the service being unavailable or inaccurate. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.
